Join us at Witney & District Museum for Museum Explorers, our exciting programme of family activities throughout the summer holidays.

Every session is inspired by a different story from Witney’s past and includes hands-on making, creative challenges and opportunities to explore the museum in new ways. Whether you’re designing, building, crafting or investigating, there’s plenty for curious young explorers to enjoy.

Perfect for children and their families. Come along and discover the stories that make Witney unique. All materials are provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

All workshops are free although donations are welcome.

Embark on our Dino Trail, featuring dinosaurs hidden throughout the centre. Complete the trail and enter our free prize draw for a chance to win a prize.

Children can become junior palaeontologists at our exciting Dino Dig experiences on 8 and 21 August, where they can uncover dinosaur bones with the help of expert palaeontologists. Sessions can accommodate up to 60 children at a time.

Don't miss the Dino Walkarounds on 1 and 15 August, when a giant dinosaur and its baby will be roaming the centre, meeting visitors and posing for photos.

The dinosaur fun extends beyond the mall too:

🎬 Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie arrives at Cineworld Witney on 7 August, making it the perfect family day out.

🍪 Scarlet River Brewing Company will be hosting Dino Cookie Decorating sessions from 4–16 August (except Mondays), giving little ones the chance to create their own prehistoric treats.

A recurring local community market stall event raising funds for charity.

Join Witney Town Band for a wonderful afternoon of live music in the park on Sunday 2 August, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at The Leys, Witney, OX28 4BA. Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, and relax in the great outdoors while enjoying uplifting performances from the band.

The ever-popular free family fun event No need to book – just turn up and have fun. Located at Burwell Recreation Ground.

Families can look forward to a wide range of free, accessible activities tailored to keep children physically active and engaged.

Event Highlights Include:

• Ride on Time: Toddler vehicles and wheeled toys.
• Active Play: Body zorbing, go-karts, and a smoothie bike.
• Creative Activities: Junk modelling, DIY face painting, fabric upcycling, and giant bubbles.
• Additional Info: While entry and activities are free, you will need to bring or purchase your own food and drinks, as it functions as a community picnic.

🎶To celebrate the incredible range and increasing presence of music at our annual Beer & Cider Festival, we've re-named it the Cogges Summer Festival.

☀️This is the pinnacle of summer in the cotswolds - rustic farmyard fun, 50+ locally produced craft beers and ciders, tasty food courtesy of the Cogges BBQ and this year, we will be creating a Food Paddock outside of the barns where there will be a wider selection of food giving you more choice and less queuing.

⭐️We'll announce the bands very soon...but we can promise an incredible line up

🥂Don't worry if beer and cider isn't your thing, there's a Summer Bar too which will serve Pimms, wine and bubbly and NEW for this year, we're inviting our friends Xander's who will be running a Cocktail Bar with a range of spirits, cocktails and Aperol Spritz on offer.

Cogges Manor Farm are excited to warmly welcome back the wonderful Illyria theatre group with their outdoor performance of Shakespeare's As You Like It.

In this play Shakespeare explores Love in all its guises. Four pairs of soulmates meet in the mysterious Forest of Arden. One pair leap straight into bed. Another pair are instantaneously dumbstruck by each other’s beauty and pledge their undying troth. The third pair torment each other: he showers chaste love upon her which she haughtily rejects - yet secretly she enjoys the flattery. The fourth pair go further still, playfully blurring their roles and identities to such an extent that flirting becomes more pain than pleasure, and Love itself is pushed to the limit of its endurance – and beyond. Throughout the summer Shakespeare’s iconic comedy will be performed where its action is set – in the great outdoors, by a 5-strong cast of classically trained professional actors. Multi international award-winning Illyria has an unmatched reputation for excellence, forged over three decades, that dominates the outdoor touring theatre sector.
